Well Intramural participants, it is that time of the semester when it all comes down to the final game. UREC Intramurals will be hosting its annual Championship Night this week. 4-on-4 Flag Football will take place at Valley Road Playfields on Tuesday night and Basketball will be held inside the Shared Facilities on Thursday night. As January has flown by, so have the registration deadlines for Basketball and 4-on-4 Flag Football. However, sign-ups will be available soon for 4-on-4 Volleyball as well as 9-on-9 Soccer. Both these leagues will begin taking entries on February 11th and go until February 27th. Do not wait until the last minute to sign up, even though play begins March 3rd, because these are two of our most popular leagues and they will both fill quickly. [More]

As the semester is slowly coming to an end it is a good time to look back at the intramural season as a whole. The biggest highlight of the fall semester was getting over 200 flag football teams signed up. This is the largest turnout that intramurals has seen since the addition of the Valley Road Playfields. Not only is this good for the intramurals program, but it is encouraging to see our participants staying active in our Cougar community. [More]

While dead week is gradually coming to an end, finals will be here before we know it. After finals are many of us will be headed home for the holidays and not be back to Pullman until January. That is when our intramural sport leagues will start up again as we begin filling leagues for our spring 2013 season. [More]

Most people think of the movie “Dodgeball” when they hear the word related to the sport. The famous quote, “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball”, is always a way to get people talking about the sport. However, dodgeball can be a lot more challenging than some may believe. [More]

As the regular season in flag football is coming to an end, playoffs are coming up. With the addition of 40 more teams than last year, the championship games should be entertaining to watch. Win or lose, this intramural season has included some dramatic comebacks and also some outstanding plays to go along with them. [More]

Indoor soccer has finally begun courtesy of the Intramural program here at UREC. Indoor is a good way to get some exercise on the weekends when there are not a lot of other intramural activities going on. Typically games are held Saturday and Sunday starting at 9:00 a.m. and go until around 4:00p.m. [More]

The WSU Lightweight Women’s Crew team is hosting this year’s Halloween 5k run around campus. The race is called, “Run for Your Life”, but takes on a Halloween and fun theme each year. Everyone is welcome to participate around the Pullman community. All the proceeds made will be used to help out the WSU Lightweight Women’s Crew Team. [More]

Intramural flag football is finally off and running with more than 203 teams signed up to play Sunday- Thursday. We exceeded our goal of getting at least 200 teams and are motivated to get even more teams signed up next semester. Usually flag football is intramurals biggest turnout and we are excited to see who will be crowned flag football champions. Whether it is the recreational or competitive champions, whoever wins the championship will have a long road ahead of them to make it to the finals with such a great number of teams. [More]
