09/11/2009 Eco Adventure: Salmon River Rafting and Clean up
Start your semester off with an adventure through the Outdoor Recreation Center and Northwest Voyagers. This over-night trip is at a bargain price and includes all equipment for camping, transportation down to Riggins, ID and for all of the fun on the river! While on the river, this trip will also work on a project to keep this river enjoyable and scenic for those that will come after us. This community service project will include glorifying the riverside by cleaning up debris and trash. The rafting portion of the trip will include paddling Class II and III water and be facilitated by professional guides. You can record service hours for your class, resume, or personal record: Eco Adventures are all completed in cooperation with The Center for Civic Engagement. The CCE has a new database for your convenience: http://cce.wsu.edu/default.asp?PageID=525 to create your account. NOTE: The CCE and UREC will not maintain a record for your service hours unless you create an account. (Level 2) Good physical conditioning is necessary, little experience is required, and little technical knowledge is necessary. There is a mandatory pre trip meeting for this trip. This pre trip meetings are designed to give patrons the necessary information for the trip as well as answer any questions. The Pre-Trip meeting for this adventure is Tuesday, September 8th at 6:30pm in the Outdoor Recreation Center.
