09/04/2009 Labor Day Weekend Backpacking: Glacier Peak Wilderness
Join us in celebrating Labor Day Weekend with this spectacular backpacking opportunity across the awe-inspiring Glacier Peak Wilderness. Glacier Peak Wilderness stretches from the shore of Lake Chelan to the towering firs and cedars along the Suiattle River. Between these two points lie some of the most spectacular peaks in the Cascade Range and more glaciers than any other wilderness in the lower 49 states. Gentle switchbacks and ever-expanding scenery ease your passage to the summit overlooking the Cascade’s vegetation and geographical splendor. We will be hiking in both Glacier Peak Wilderness and Henry Jackson Wilderness Area. We will be hiking the Cady Pass- Meander Meadow Loop, and to a few peaks, such as Kodak Peak. The Pre Trip Meeting is on September 2, 2009 at 6:30 pm at the Outdoor Recreation Center. All necessary equipment and transportation is provided. (Level 3) Good physical conditioning is required, some experience is recommended, and some technical knowledge is highly recommended.
